Sanctuary of Praise is a Real Church, discipling Real People with Real Love.

We are on a continuous mission to reach our world and community with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to help bring his love to their life that they can receive salvation through the infilling of the Holy Ghost and baptism in Jesus' name.

This bible study was compiled by the students of Called Out student ministries for the purpose of showing God’s perfect plan of love and salvation to all ages.

IT STARTS WITH BELIEF

To find the revelation of Jesus Christ you must first accept that The bible is the infallible word of God. It cannot lie, it cannot be capable of error, it cannot contradict itself, and it will never be out of date.

John 1:1 Tells us, In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

It is critical to understand that the bible is where we will gain context for all which we believe, primarily the doctrine of the New Testament Disciples.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness

We also must establish there is only ONE God, Jesus is his name, he is one and the same.

Deuteronomy 4:35 To you it was shown, that you might know that the Lord is God; there is no other besides him.

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.

There is only 1 God in Heaven, one King who sits on the throne, and his name is Jesus.

A PATH TO SALVATION

With the basis of holy scripture, and one god established we can outline the core plan of salvation as given by Peter to the first generation of the church.

Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the  forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

There is a clear path of REPENTANCE, BAPTISM, & receiving the HOLY GHOST.

Jesus himself said it this way: John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God!

REPENTANCE

Repentance is the verbal act of commitment to God, and the laying down of past sin, for a new life.

In order to receive from God’s mercy, and to take him on as our savior, we must first commit to laying aside all sin to follow after him.

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

Repentance is saying “I’m sorry God For _____ “ and committing to not going back to the sin you lay down so that you can take on Christ.

BAPTISM

Baptism is an act of faith in God that figuratively applies the blood of Christ over your life, and washes sin of the past away.

Acts 22:16 And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins,
calling on his name.

Baptism is to be done in the name of Jesus Christ as Peter preaches in Acts 2:38 and
other disciples preached as well.

Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Acts 19:4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”

Baptism in water in the name of Jesus is the first step in fulfilling Jesus’s answer to
Nicodemus in John 3:5.

THE INFILLING OF THE HOLY GHOST

The last step is to receive the Holy Ghost.

Not a ghost or a spirit of mystical power as modern theatrics may say, but the literal Spirit of God resides within those who receive him.

Luke 24:49 And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high.

The promise of the father was the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:1-4 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

They received the gift of the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of God living inside them, and they know because of the evidence of speaking in other tongues.

John 14:15-17 If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

SUMMARY

We now know that it is necessary for salvation that we:

  • Come to God with a repented heart

    • Ask forgiveness of all sin

  • Are Baptized in Jesus' name for the remission of sins

    • In Jesus' name, he washes away all past sin from us

  • We seek to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost

    • Evidence of speaking in other tongues as they did on the day of Pentecost

With these things in mind, we hope that you choose to seek after God with all of your heart. Let his light of salvation shine in you as you begin a new life with Christ Jesusfresh and new.
