Maybe you are returning to church, or coming to church for the very first time. Or, maybe you're an active church member who just moved to town and needs to find a new church home. Whatever your story may be, you probably have a lot of questions before you visit Sanctuary of Praise. Here's our attempt to guess what's on your mind and answer your questions. We hope you find the answers to all your questions on our website, but if you have ANY questions whatsoever, please feel free to contact us at (864)224-6699.
How should I dress?
Comfortably! You'll see people in everything from jeans to suits on Sundays. Casual or "Sunday best"....it doesn't matter. Our concern isn't what's on the outside, but what's on the inside. Come as you are. Besides, Jesus accepts us as we are when we come to Him. Why shouldn't we?
What time does service start?
On Sundays, Sunday school starts at 2 p.m. followed by our worship service at 3:00 p.m. On Wednesdays, our bible study begins at 7:15 p.m and our youth service begins at 7:15 p.m.
How do I get there?
Our church is located at 518 Stone Drive Anderson, SC 29626 . We are right off of hwy 28.Get directions to SOP.
Where should I park?
We have parking available on both sides of our church. The Handicap accessible parking is located on the first entrance to your left.
What should I do when I arrive?
When you first arrive, you will enter at our front entrance unless you wish to enter at the Handicap entrance. Our wonderful hospitality team will be at the front door to greet you. They will give you a brochure about the church, and if it's your first time to visit, they will ask you to fill out a Guest's Card so that we can have a record of your attendance. We really are glad when someone takes the time to visit!
What’s available for my kids?
We currently have a toddler class, children’s church, youth group and a group called Hyphen for college students.
What is the music like?
Because we are a multicultural church, it is difficult to label our praise and worship as a particular style. The praise team draws from various styles of music to unite us in worship, celebration, and praise using vocalists, guitars, keyboards, and drums. Our worship services are a time of corporate, intimate communion with God.
Our services are filled with vibrant worship. We clap our hands, lift our hands, sing aloud, and offer heartfelt expressions of worship. Please feel free to worship God in ways in which you are comfortable.
